FOOTLOOSE!!

When Ren and his mother move from Chicago to the small farming town of Bomont, he is prepared for the inevitable adjustment period at his new high school. What he’s not prepared for are the rigorous local laws, including a ban on dancing instituted by the local preacher, Reverend Shaw Moore, who is determined to exercise control over the town’s youth. When the Reverend’s rebellious daughter, Ariel, sets her sights on Ren, her roughneck boyfriend tries to sabotage Ren’s reputation, with many locals eager to believe the worst about the new kid, this makes life in Bomont very difficult for Ren. The heartfelt story that emerges pits a father longing for the son he lost against a young man aching for the father who walked out on him. With a hit score straight from the 1980s, an amazing cast and energetic and lively dancing, you're sure to leave the theater tapping your toes and humming a tune!)

Performances are Thursday, Friday and Saturday, March 19-21 at 7:30pm. Matinees are Saturday and Sunday, March 21 and 22 at 2pm, at the Shelby Theater in Freedom Middle School, 1000 Excellence Way.
